National Teacher Certification

Six Modules of Learning.  We begin with;

Course Requirements to complete the certification process; USJF Membership, Proof of Shodan rank and higher, Background check, Concussion Training and SafeSport certification.

Modules

  • Module 1; Provides insight into Judo history and philosophy
  • Module 2; Introduces risk management.  How to protect yourself and the dojo from litigation.
  • Module 3; Guidelines for classroom management and assistant teacher utilization.
  • Module 4; Examines the Champions of Character program which is designed to instill an understanding of character values in Judo and provide the opportunity to identify, model and reinforce these exemplary character traits.
  • Module 5; Instructional tools play a crucial role in shaping what and how an instructor teaches, influenced by your past experiences and the dedication you invest in refining your skills.  Our conversation encompasses attitudes, relationships between instructors and clients, and, naturally, various teaching methodologies.
  • Module 6; Prepare to present a brief instructional video lasting between 30 to 60 seconds for your designated Personal Master Instructor on Ukemi, Tachi-waza, Osae-waza, Shime-waza and Kansetsu-waza techniques.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age and rank requirement: 18 yrs and older – Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt)
  • Individuals with NO previous Teacher certifications from USJF, USJA, USA Judo

Fees:

  • Certification Fee: $100.00

Valid:

  • Certification is valid for 4 years from date of insunance.

National Teacher Re – Certification

Your classification changes from National Teacher to Master Teacher upon successful completion of the Course.

  • Certified USJF National Teachers who are re-certifying or individuals with previous Teacher certifications from USJA, USA Judo.
